Matrix Moments

Media Moments: Question, reflect, connect

Surreal

From second storey
Hospital lounge,
You can see
winding quiet Avon waters,
Punting striped building
stamped on river bank,
Waiting canoes,
paddling ripples
Trees and pathways,
Jogger friends
Lycra and ponytails,
Dog lead stroller,
Threading cyclists power through.

Gaze shifts
From out to in,
My beautiful lady
Eyes lost in heavy lids,
pale drawn skin
Hand tremors lightly
Connected to the pain,
that steals
depth of rest,

Hospital gown fashion
proclaiming she is medicine property,
Tubes from drug bag
Drip time,
Waiting, time slowed
in the blatantly real,
Yet disconnected.
Watching
I love her.

In the midst
we still know Christ,
talk of His love for us
that is unchanging
through this operation event,
Good or bad
Random experiences
do not change
the love of Jesus.

Surreal moments.

Starting Thoughts: Life has deep questions of pain, coping with loss, where is God in all of this. Part of our faith journey with cancer.
